1. What is imthere4u?

imthere4u – the family network is a new and unique way to get and stay in contact. imthere4u serves two specific purposes. imthere4u is a communication cloud for personalized video massages and an online archive for memories of all kinds. imthere4u enables you to preserve precious memories in form of videos, photos and virtual diaries and to share them with a private group of people. imthere4u comprises of 3 portals, each with a different target group orientation - 4Fathers, 4Mothers and 4Others (which caters to everybody else). Each portal serves a different purpose yet they all share a common feature: “personalized communication with one or more specific person(s).” 4Fathers and 4Mothers is an online archive for the entire family. Said two portals are of particular interest for parents which now or in the future, in whichever form, only have a limited possibility to communicate with their child (e.g. non custodial parents, divorced or separate living parents, soldiers in general but especially on deployment, etc.). imthere4u allows you to quickly sent a video message or a picture to your child to brighten up his day. Since effective communication is a two way process the child, of course, is also able to respond with his own videos, photos and virtual diaries to the videos, photos and virtual diaries that you made available to him. No problem at all in this digital world of ours. The imthere4u 4Others portal is geared towards everybody who loves to easily share videos, photos, virtual diaries and messages with family, friends and acquaintances. imthere4u is so much more than just a mere online storage service. Communicating through uploaded content if there is no other way possible, allow loved ones to partake in your life by sharing moments via videos, photos and virtual diaries is what imthere4u is about and intends to help with.

2. What is so unique about imthere4u?

Regardless of the fact that imthere4u is the first website to combine a contact platform for families and “others” with a personalized cloud storage service, imthere4u is also the first provider to enable people to get in contact with one’s children, family members, friends, acquaintances (basically the loved ones) even if there is no direct access to these people or in other words, without the need of having actual contact. Sounds crazy right? But what is one to do if there is no way to contact your child, or family member, long lost friend without an open line of communication? – imthere4u is the answer.

The imthere4u own matching process (see No. 3) allows for a video sender (e.g. a father) to upload Videos which in turn are made available for the intended receiver. Hence, this is of particular interest for fathers, mothers and anyone else who do not have access of any form to their respective children, family members, friends and acquaintances but still wish to do so. Yet, an important prerequisite for the matching process to work properly is that both parties (video sender as well as intended receiver) have to search for one another using imthere4u.

As previously mentioned, this is only one of many possible applications of imthere4u. imthere4u is not just for people who do not have contact with their child. Even if there is an open line of communication one can easily share precious memories in form of videos, photos and virtual diaries which makes imthere4u the perfect solution to archive and share memories of family and friends. imthere4u helps to overcome contact barriers. With imthere4u you will always be in contact. Be there.

3. How does imthere4u establish contact (matching process)?

Upon uploading a video, certain person specific tags have to be attached to the video. The video in turn can then be found by the intended receiver by entering these tags into the video search page. If the tags of a video sender (e.g. a video of a father without contact to his child) and intended receiver (e.g. by a child in search of his father) are positively matched the first stage of a multi layer contacting process will be initiated. After the matching process is completed a contact request is being sent to the video sender requesting to create a 4u-account for the intended video receiver. The 4u-account will provide the intended receiver with access to uploaded and shared content of the video sender (videos/pictures/virtual diaries), as well as will allow him to upload content of his own. Until final clearance, the so called “4u-key exchange”, is approved, all data relevant for contacting the receiver (e.g. the child) will not be disclosed to the video sender (for more information on this subject, please see Security Levels (Matching Process) on our support page).

imthere4u allows the sender to speak up and helps in delivering the message. Yet, the responsibility lies with the video sender to upload a video which can be found (see no.4) by the seeker. Since this is only possible if the involved parties know of imthere4u we need your help to spread the word. With imthere4u you can search and you can be found. Be there for your loved ones.

All content is 100% private and under no circumstances will be made public (unless you choose to do so) by imthere4u.

But do not forget that imthere4u is also an archive for memories which deserve to be preserved in a save place and shared. Regardless if they are videos, pictures, a mini blog during pregnancy or just the beautiful moments that make live worth living. Equip your content with a 4u-key generated on imthere4u. Said 4u-key can then be used to unlock your 4u-account and content. Either hold on to the 4u-key or pass it on directly to the person you intend to be there for.

4. I don’t have contact with the intended video receiver. How can my video be found?

Only the videos of the imthere4u accounts 4sure, 4ever and 4eternity can be found through the video search due to the fact that we use the credit card information for identification verification purposes. The video search enables people to find content, dedicated to and uploaded specifically for them by means of personalized tags which are attached to every uploaded video (see no.3). All uploaded content is private and will not be disclosed in any shape or form (unless you choose to do so). As previously mentioned, imthere4u can only unfold its full potential if all involved parties know of imthere4u and its capabilities. You have to help us by spreading the word. With imthere4u people can search and can be found. Be there for your loved ones.

Note: Videos can only be found through the imthere4u own video search function. Videos uploaded to imthere4u are not public and therefore cannot be found by public search engines (e.g. google, yahoo etc.)

5. How children are protected on imthere4u?

Under no circumstances is it possible to contact children on imthere4u, neither deliberately nor accidently. There are no public profiles or any other means of contacting children directly. On imthere4u the intended receiver (e.g. child/friend) searches on his own accord by entering certain search tags to see if a video sender (e.g. father/mother/friend) has uploaded a video for him.

After a positive search tag match, identity query and correct answer of the security question it should be possible to unambiguously pinpoint the sought after person. At no point in time will contact data of the seeker (intended video receiver) be disclosed. The data (email address) is saved by the system but not disclosed to the video sender in order to enable the creation of a 4u-account and the necessary 4u-key exchange. Videos can only be found if the video senders’ credit card information is deposited at our payment provider service (Ingenico) and our merchant processing service (Elavon). This further enables us to verify the identity of the video sender in case of unfair and unlawful use of the imthere4u service. Protecting the intended video receivers (in particular minors) is of utmost importance to imthere4u. Therefore personal data in form of credit card information is gathered only for the purpose of billing and identification in case of unlawful use of the imthere4u services. Personal data will not be disclosed to unrelated third parties. If the uploaded content breaches public morality in its manner of use (in particular in regards to minors) or infringes personal rights we advice the 4u-User to either contact us through our contact form or send us an email at contact@imthere4u.com. For violation of intellectual property right or any other proprietary right use our DMCA contact form in the main menu. In case of extreme violations the responsible authorities will be informed and the respective content will be handed over. Until the identity of both parties is verified imthere4u encourages 4u-Users to only communicate via imthere4u and to not disclose any other contact information. imthere4u also clearly warns of the dangers of actual meetings with persons whose identity is not verified. Meetings of such nature should only be arranged with the consent- and in attendance of a legal guardian. See our support page for information on this subject.

6. What happens if my subscription period ends?

After the subscription period expires the paid subscription account will be downgraded to an imthere4u 4free account. Your content will be stored 5 years after your subscription period ended. Furthermore you will not be able to upload new content. For more information regarding this subject, please see our service overview on our support page.

Note: This is only applicable for our imthere4u 4sure and imthere4u 4ever subscriptions. imthere4u 4eternity will not expire due to its account specific features.

7. What happens if the maximum storage capacity of your imthere4u 4free subscription is reached?

The imthere4u 4free subscription comprises of a cloud space of 500 MB. If the maximum storage capacity is reached, uploading new content will not be possible (4me-User and 4u-Users alike). Uploaded content as to this date will still be available to view for you and your 4u-Users. If you -are in need of more cloud space, -want your videos to be found, -want your content to be stored for an indefinite period of time, -want to pick a specific video release date, just visit our subscription page and get an imthere4u 4sure, imthere4u 4ever or an imthere4u 4eternity account in order to enjoy all the features imthere4u has to offer.

8. Is it possible to upgrade my account?

Your current account may be upgraded whenever you choose to do so. Just visit our subscription page.

9. Why is there a video release date?

By setting a video release date you can control the point in time a video is made available to a certain 4u-User. This might be of interest if the 4u-User and intended video receiver is too small to understand the content or the video is supposed to be published at a certain point in time (e.g. a birthday). Just upload the video in the usual manner and set the desired video release date. This function is only available in the imthere4u 4sure, imthere4u 4ever and imthere4u 4eternity subscription.

10. Which subscription is the right one for me?

The imthere4u 4free subscription is for everyone who wants to easily share video messages pictures and virtual diaries with family and friends. Just pass on the 4u-key in order for your content to be unlocked and be there for your loved ones.

The imthere4u 4sure (25 GB) and imthere4u 4ever (100 GB) subscriptions serve two specific purposes. Firstly, the imthere4u 4sure and imthere4u 4ever subscriptions are specifically for users that do not have the possibility of communicating with a certain person but wish to do so (e.g. child, long lost friend etc.). With imthere4u you can overcome barriers of communication. imthere4u cannot be used to force other people into getting in touch. Just upload your video and tag it so that it can be found through our (internal) video search function whenever the intended video receiver is ready to search for it of his own accord.

Secondly, the imthere4u 4sure and imthere4u 4ever subscriptions are used as an archive for all the unforgettable moments that are meant to be preserved. One 4me-account is enough to exchange memories with your family and friends by simply creating multiple 4u-accounts. Please do not forget that you share your cloud space with your 4u-Users. Be there.

The imthere4u 4eternity subscription is for users who realize that they cannot be there in the future. With imthere4u you can record videos now and release them at any given date in the future (even multiple years from now). This subscription requires only a single payment. Videos will be available not less than one year after the subscription is purchased.

11. What happens to my data?

Your content remains your content. We do not claim any property rights, copyrights or usage rights to it, with the exception of the rights that we require for providing our services. In particular, these include the rights required for storing or copying them, such as for data backups, and for providing access in connection with the service selected by you.
